Because the function runs server-side within Shopify's checkout, it is more reliable than discount apps that use draft orders or coupon code injection. The discount shows on the checkout page before the customer completes payment, and it works regardless of which Shopify theme or checkout customization the merchant uses. The spin-to-win outcome is presented on the storefront, but the Function re-clamps the actual reward at checkout, so the discount can never exceed the merchant's limit.
