Anti-Slop Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies solely to the Anti-Slop Chrome extension, published by Extensions Market. It fully discloses what data Anti-Slop collects, how that data is used, with whom it is shared, and how it is stored. By installing or using Anti-Slop, you agree to this policy.
The short version: The free features — scoring text, scoring a page's design, showing flagged tells, and the offline quick-clean — run entirely in your browser. Nothing you scan is sent anywhere. Only the optional Pro AI actions send data to our server, and only when you click them.
1. Free features are 100% local
When you check text or scan a page's design, Anti-Slop analyzes it on your device, inside your browser. The 0-to-100 score, the flagged phrases and design tells, the accessibility checks, and the deterministic "quick clean" text fixes all run locally. The text you select and the pages you scan are never transmitted to our servers or any third party for these free features.
2. What data Anti-Slop collects
Account data (only if you create an account for Pro)
- Email address — collected when you create an Anti-Slop account. Used for authentication, email verification, and account management.
- Password — stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash. We never see or store your plaintext password.
- Account ID — a unique identifier assigned when your account is created, used to link your subscription and usage to your account.
- Usage counter — the number of AI actions you have used in the current day, to enforce plan limits. Resets daily.
- Subscription plan — whether your account is free, Basic, or Pro.
- Signup IP address — recorded at signup and used only to prevent abuse of the free AI quota (for example, blocking scripted mass-signups). Not used for tracking or advertising.
Content processed only when you use a Pro AI action
- AI rewrite (text) — when you click "AI rewrite", the text you selected is sent from your browser to our server over HTTPS and forwarded to Anthropic's API to produce a rewritten version. The text is not stored on our servers after the request completes.
- AI fix (design) — when you click "AI fix" on a design scan, the list of flagged design tells plus a snippet of the page's CSS is sent to our server and forwarded to Anthropic's API to produce a critique and corrected CSS. This data is not stored on our servers after the request completes.
- These actions only run when you explicitly click them, and only for accounts that have signed in.
Local browser storage
- Login session tokens — stored in
chrome.storage.local on your device to keep you signed in. Cleared when you sign out.
- Theme preference — your light/dark choice, stored locally.
3. Data we do NOT collect
- We do not send the text or pages you scan anywhere for the free features. They stay in your browser.
- We do not store your text, the pages you scan, or the AI results on our servers after a request completes.
- We do not collect your browsing history.
- We do not use tracking pixels, advertising networks, or third-party analytics SDKs inside the extension.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data for advertising purposes.
4. How your data is used
- To authenticate your account and keep you signed in
- To verify your email and enforce daily AI limits based on your plan
- To produce AI rewrites and design fixes by forwarding the relevant content to Anthropic's API
- To prevent abuse of the free AI quota (signup IP, per-network limits)
- To process subscription payments and manage billing via Stripe
- To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset)
5. Third parties your data is shared with
| Third Party | Data Shared | Purpose | Their Privacy Policy |
| Anthropic |

6. Data storage and retention
- Account data (email, hashed password, account ID, usage counter, plan, signup IP) — stored in our PostgreSQL database on Railway for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 7 days of an account deletion request.
- Text and pages you scan — for free features, never leave your device. For a Pro AI action, processed in memory on our server and discarded after the response is returned. Never written to disk.
- Login tokens — stored locally on your device. Cleared on sign-out.
7. Extension permissions
- activeTab — lets Anti-Slop read the text you selected, or scan the page you are on, only when you explicitly run it (toolbar click or right-click menu).
- scripting — injects the scoring panel into the current tab on demand when you run a scan.
- contextMenus — adds the right-click actions (scan selected text, scan this page's design, scan this element's design).
- storage — stores your login session and theme preference locally on your device.
8. Data security
All communication between Anti-Slop and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes. Login tokens are short-lived and rotated. The content of AI requests is never written to server logs. Anthropic does not train on API-submitted content by default.
9. Your rights
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold (email, account ID, usage data).
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate account data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data within 7 days.
- Portability — request your account data in a machine-readable format.

10. Children's privacy
Anti-Slop is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
